The expansion of an engine machining line with three ACCS cylinder coating systems is about to go into production.
The machining line at an engine plant in the UK has been supplemented with an additional line featuring ACCS cylinder coating systems. In a first step, these will apply a thermal cylinder coating to gasoline engines.
After almost two years, all three systems are now ready for SOP in early 2026.
The three ACCS cylinder coating systems are supplemented by an ACCS Cylinder Inspector, which is located downstream of the honing line and inspects the quality of the honed cylinder running surfaces. This allows the coating results to be qualified before the finished engine blocks go into assembly.
