Girls’ Day 2018: Campaign day for young talents at the Sturm-Gruppe
Thursday, April 26, 2018 was a day when technically interested girls were shown at Sturm-Gruppe that industrial apprenticeships are not just for boys.
Sturm-Gruppe, the industrial company based in Salching, has been inviting schoolgirls as part of the country-wide vocational orientation Girls’ Day for many years now to enable them to get a taste of what are supposedly typical “men’s jobs”.
After a presentation of the numerous training possibilities at the Sturm-Gruppe and a factory tour, the girls were given the opportunity to demonstrate what they could do in the training workshop by soldering, turning, milling and bending. They crafted a plane and a mobile phone holder – a rewarding reminder of a successful Girls’ Day at the Sturm-Gruppe.
