My name is Christina Aigner, I have been a dual student with the group since September 2016. In addition to training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering, I am studying electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University Deggendorf. Currently, I am in my fifth semester, the practical semester.

Sturm offers dual students the opportunity to complete their practical semester at the American location.

After a short application phase and the visa application, I left Munich Airport on September 20, 2019 and arrived in Greenville-Spartanburg via Atlanta. The US location is in Greer, South Carolina. There I was warmly welcomed by the entire Sturm Inc.- team and was allowed to get involved in all current projects and offers from the very beginning.

My tasks include electronic project coordination, purchasing, tender preparation and the assembly or commissioning of the systems at the customer’s site. I can always rely on the support and assistance of my colleagues.

I spend a lot of my free time hiking and biking in the Appalachian Mountains; I have joined a hiking and a mountain bike group. I also often meet up with friends and play in the kickball league.

I am very grateful for the unique opportunity to spend the internship semester with Sturm Inc., a challenge which I enjoy. My working day is very varied and gives me insights into areas that I had never thought about before. These experiences will certainly help me in my future career.
